You’re about to go for an interview – but are you prepared. The Boy Scouts were so right with “Be Prepared” .  We hope you find these Top Tips for Job Interview useful.

Top Tips for Job Interviews- Be Prepared.

Research the company – first start off with the company’s website. Gain knowledge on the products and services they offer. Check out LinkedIn and research the company and the person that will be interviewing you. Check out the Company’s Annual Report.

Research the industry as well as the company.

It would also help if you checked out a search on yourself on Google, to see what comes up – Employers often research the candidate through social media etc.

Ensure you give enough time to prepare yourself for the interview.

Practice makes perfect and your confidence will shine through. Get a friend to set you a mock interview.

After checking out the company ensure you understand the job description, make notes to list your key experiences relating to the position. Bring out your previous achievements.

Prepare for the dreaded questions –

a) Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?

b)  Tell me about yourself?

Remember to keep your answers brief and professional (and not too personal).

Route – Ensure you know the address of the company, time and who is interviewing you. This will avoid last minute panic, check out the route prior to the interview. Make sure you are early, it’s better to be early than too late.

Dress to Impress – Look good, feel good. Don’t rush around in the morning trying to find     something to wear!

Eat something! – Don’t go to an interview on an empty stomach! You will feel awful if your tummy starts to rumble!
